This Hawkes Bay Syrah is reminiscent of the Northern Rhône, but with the bright fruit of the New World. Red and black currants marry with aromas of ground pepper, graphite, crushed violets and a suggestion of grilled barbecue fare. The medium-weight palate is balanced and approachable, made in a drink-now style that offers all the flavors of the nose wrapped in a silky-textured yet powerful package.
