Alluring aromatics of hibiscus, orange segments, and sweet red cherry pave the way for this beasty. There is a supple quality to this wine on the palate, showing the warmth of the vintage, but it ebbs showing a fine bed of edgy tannin. Layers of sweet strawberry, blood orange, and tart cherry swirl, culminating in a minutes-long finish that echoes hibiscus but adding in fine baking spice, leather, and a dusty-chalky mineral element. This is the type of Barolo one might expect at $100-150. Drink now or cellar well for 10+ years. -Mick Descamps, RWWT
