A more deeply pitched nose somewhat grudgingly reveals aromas of red and dark pinot fruit, plum, violet and a touch of newly turned earth. There is more volume, power and mid-palate density to the tautly muscular medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a chalky and overtly austere finale. The almost pungently mineral texture is akin to licking a rock and this too is going to need extended forbearance as it too is very compact.
