Stephane produced a lot of the 2014 Côte Rôtie Village (2,000 cases) as he only made two cuvées, the Village and the Reserve, with a lot of grapes being declassified into the base cuvée. The adage of drink the producer and not the vintage holds true here and this entry-level wine offers incredible charm and elegance, as well as classic notes of cured meats, olives, dried spices and darker fruits. It should keep for 7-8 years, but there's no need to delay gratification.
