Powerful oak leads the way, but this 75% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7% Petit Verdot, 7% Merlot, and 11% Cabernet Franc gracefully opens to reveal cinnamon-tinged tobacco leaf and scorched herbs. There’s a real elegance to this wine – a contrast to the brawny, muscular 2014 – which deftly balances the concentration of the low-yielding vintage. Plump, round, almost pillowy tannins support satiny red berry and black cherry fruit, layered with a chalky mineral grip that carries through the dark chocolate finish.
