Aldo Conterno’s three 2016 Baroli from the Bussia Soprana slope are well-defined in their diverse personalities, despite the close proximity of each site. Of the trio, the Cicala demonstrates the greatest balance. Essentially flanked by Colonello and Romirasco, Cicala is a steep plot with calcareous soil particularly rich in calcium carbonate and iron. It offers density and ripeness without being too heavy, as well as ample power without over-flexing its muscles.
