Persian and honeydew melons, apple and quince gain aromatic pungency and palate tang thanks to kiwi and Ruwer-typical white currant. Sweetness is prominent, but there is enough sense of seedy impingement as well as of the aforementioned tang to check it from becoming overbearing; and, like the wine’s glossy feel, that sweetness does reinforce a sense of ripe fruit succulence. The finish takes me very pleasantly by surprise in its sense of buoyancy and animation as well as in its mouthwatering hint of salinity and its admirable transparency to wet stone underpinnings.
