The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Ceniza Vineyard (100% Cabernet) comes from a site in Coombsville and was brought up in 70% new French oak. Terrific notes of cassis, camphor, sappy spring flowers, violets, and a touch of green tobacco all emerge from the glass, and this beauty is full-bodied, with incredible elegance and not a hard edge to be found. It has wonderful Cabernet character, and despite its charm and upfront style, it’s going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 20 years or more.
