The scents flowing from the glass—crushed cherries, baking spices and clean earth—introduce a complex wine with blackberry, black cherry, pepper, earth and rock components. The citrusy acids and stony minerality dominate the back palate and carry on through a drying finish. Roughly one-fifth of the barrels were new.
