Sandhi Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills 2013
92 Points Wine & Spirits
Sashi Moorman drew mostly on Bentrock and Rita’s Crown for this nervy pinot noir, its deep color prefacing the energy and intensity that comes from windswept coastal vineyards, without bombast or over-extraction. The wine grows out of its flinty tannins toward glimmers of red fruit and a pungent pine needle aroma—completely savory yet refreshing.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is plump, juicy and expressive, all within the gracious style that is the hallmark for Sandhi. Succulent red berry and floral notes wrap around the open-knit, inviting finish. This is a terrific entry-level offering from Sandhi. The fruit sources are Bentrock and Rita's Crown.
